Echo springs on xA?

Echo springs on xA?
Since I find the stock suspension of the xA is a bit too stiff/bouncy for my taste, I have a strange idea of putting springs with lower spring rate into the car and see if it would make it more comfortable. However, I think all the aftermarket lowering springs should have higher spring rate than stock, even progressive. Do anybody think the US Echo spring would fit on the xA? I assume Echo is sharing the same platform as xA and should have a lower spring rate due to weight differences.

I once had the same idea, but my research uncovered that the Echo springs are about the same rate. Additionally, the Echo front springs are longer..........although the rears are the same length. I believe the bouncy ride is do both stiff springs and too much compression/rebound damping

so what you are saying is you want a really soft ride? the Echo weighs in at about 2050 lbs for the 2004 models, at best that's about 300 lbs lighter than an xA.. I would worry that the springs for a lighter car would be a harsher ride since the bulk weight of the xA would be extra compression for those springs and not leave much travel for comfort that you are seeking
