So I was trying to get my rear rotors off to put on my nifty new slotted rotors, but I spent about 40 minutes just trying to get the damn thing off and it won't budge. Any suggestions on what I could do to loosen it? I heard that the little screwhole on the front is used for this but I can't figure out what size I would need to fit it.

A huge rubber mallet may be a little more practical in case you want to sell the rotors or whatnot.

I did take the ebrake off, also tried the rubber mallet, got nothin. Is there anything else I could try or should I just keep at it?

since you are in chi town you have road build up just spray the poop out of it with some wd-40 and let it sit then try the rubber mallet agaion

If you put the wheel on, and try to spin the tire, does it at least spin freely?

if your ebrake is off and the rotor spins freely you have rusty build up between the rotor and the hub.....soak it with WD and hit it with ahammer.It will come off.

umm..no..like everyone else..wd40 and a good beating from a mallet..hit that thing like a red headed step child!

if it is stock rotors there should be two empty bolt holes which will accept 12x1 or 14x1 (forget!) bolts that you can torque it off with... just make sure to alternate tighting the bolts so you don't jack up your bearing...

PB blaster will soon be your friend. Use that. Just make sure you dont get all that junk on your pads.

There is a tool for the two small screws in the rotors. I got a tool from ACE hardware called a Harmony Puller Tool. You use this device also to pull out other car parts like the steering wheel.

THere is a screw that attaches your radiator to the front of your car. Easy to see when you open the hood. Remove it and thread into the screw hole till you hear a loud pop....and walla all done!

BFH or your foot with a nice boot on. Keep kicking till it comes off. Just be glad its not old school drum brakes on a solid axle. I had to use a torch once to loosen one on my Jeep.

lol considering the OP posted this a couple of months ago i would hope they managed to get that rotor off :P
