Default Nology Wires and Engine Cover

Ok, So I have had these plug wires here for a while now and got bored tonight. Decided I would put them on and see what I could do to make them look decent. Let me know what you guys think. My wife says I take crap to far. LOL.. So I installed the plug wires and didnt like the way it looked by itself. So I trimed out the center of the engine cover and thought it looked ok. But still wasnt happy with it. So I took some plastic, heated it and bent it and plastic welded it to the cover. Now I am happy with it.

so.. you added more resistance to the system by adding unnecessary wires... that's great man.

the nogoly wires will actually hurt a bit considering the stock setup has the coil packs right on the plug (coil on plug)

adding those wires will add more resistance. they are more effective on vehicles that don't use the COP setup and had wires that were able to be replaced with the nogoly ones.

for this case, it's not a replacement... it's an addition.

Have YOU actually tested them or seen if you loose anything with them? If you have I would love to see some data. Not just cause you think so. Now I agree that the coil packs on the plugs make better connectivity. But I would like to see some data wether you loose anything by doing these. I need to do some dyno time so this might be one of those things that I mess with and see if it hurts and you loose power or if it just stays the same or gain. I have never seen any data either way. Now nology says you gain some. But every company out there says that about their products.

no, however OTHER people on this forum have, and have posted up their results with ADDING wires to an already efficient system.

have YOU searched? i remember you asking about these wires back in march:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=214044

and if you search some more, you can find plenty of reports about these wires.. you wanted data?? well this is called empirical data.

to start you out, i found this one thread from over 2 yrs ago:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=143415

There is still NO PROVEN data that says they help or not. Just alot of people talking about why they would or would not work. I did read that thread completely and it has some good points in there, but even still says unsure if they would help or not.
This seems to be a ongoing issue where or not they do help or not. I guess the only way would be a actual dyno run to see if they do anything or not.

Ok, so I went and drove it today.

No noticeable difference at all. No more no less. So I do not think these wires make it worse at all, nor do they make it better. Only a true dyno test would say for sure. I did alot of different tests really.

Full stop to really getting on it.
Rolling about 20 and getting on it.
Rolling about 50 in 4th and gunning it.

Like I said no noticeable difference at all. So I will agree with SquallLHeart , these are not a upgrade really to the system but maybe more of a addition.

I dont think it will stay. It was more of a "lets play around with some of the extra stuff I have laying around"

Then it got to a bashing the plug wires. LOL

nice addition.. for us the way to look at this is like engine bay touch-up. spruce up the engine bay to take it away from looking super-stock

See if you can get some plexi. Etch the VVTI logo onto it and light it with blue LED. That way you still see the wires but it will look finished. Or not.
