im boosted and have removed my primary and secondary o2's to throw my car into open loop...im using emanage ultimate and was wondering.....whats gonna happen if i yank out that MAF sensor?....would it help in tuning?...i plan on gettin a gm 2 bar map sensor before i take out the oem MAF sensor to tune off of. Can anyone chime in on this?
i've heard that the ultimate has that maf delete function but im not sure how that works.. But to me, its seems hard to do that with a piggyback.. remember its only a piggyback, the stock ecu tune is still in use and stock ecu relies on MAF tuning.. unplugging the maf will throw your car to safe mode so the computer will dump fuel and retard ignition i think.. when ignition is retarded, i've heard the ultimate cant advance it so your ignition timing is screwed... plus you will not get an intake temp reading that will lead to an inaccurate speed density tuning..
but again i dont know how that maf delete works and how it compensates..

You can advance timing with the ultimate though. I thought it was the only piggyback that you could. I may be wrong on that one. Ill probably end up just keepin the damn thing in and still use a GM 2 bar. I guess that's what I get for bein cheap and not goun standalone haha. What exactly is ptuning doin with their maf.... I heard they moved it closer to the throttle body or somethin? What's the deal on that?

^^Yeah, I hook the laptop up pretty much every trip where I drive a good distance. Just to check things over with the wideband and what not. Want to be sure to maintain good gas mileage, which is why you have to keep playing with the cells usually meant for closed loop. It's annoying a little. I will probably only be running without 02 sensors for another couple of weeks or so.

with a full standalone you can stick that maf straight up your...jjk but you can have it removed.

DO NOT REMOVE THE MAF....reasons being
1. doing so will make your car not rev past 3k and you cant go WOT
2. your timing gets retarded like a _____ and advancing timming is something i dont suggest to fix this....its a pain
3. your ecu will be dumping a giant orgasm of fuel...
