Default Need help in deciding on tC, or...

Hey everyone. First post here.

I just had a few general questions for all of you tC owners. My '95 240sx that I've had for 7 years finally bit the dust and it's time for a new car. I'm considering a new tC as an option, among others. I test drove one for the first time today and was fairly impressed, though I was only able to drive it on some back-roads for a short time. I'd definitely need more wheel time before deciding, but I wanted to get some of your opinions on the car.

I guess I'm basically just looking for some of the less obvious pro's and con's about the car that you may have discovered after owning it for awhile. The car will be nothing more than a daily driver.

Any responses are appreciated. Thanks.

it's a perfect daily driver in my opinion. it's got great aftermarket support and has plenty of potential to be more, but if left in stock form, i think it's just perfect the way it is. mine's turbo and ever since then i've kept wanting more (i.e. lsd and suspension and brakes and this and that).

Yeah, I've been browsing this forum for a couple of days. From everything that I've read, the verdict seems to be positive. I think I made this thread just for my own personal confirmation in making this decision.

op07tc,

Thanks for the reply. I see you're in Pensacola. I just graduated from UWF in May, but am moving out of the area in the next couple of months, so I need something reliable to get me out of here. I test drove the tC today at Bob Tyler.

Then it's the perfect buy. I say go for it. My tC treated me well when I daily drove it. No complaints.

I love my tC, its pretty worth the money. Lots of aftermarket stuff to buy (reasonable price too ) if you ever consider with modding. And plus u will have this great forums to help u with all ur needs. And best part about it, chicks dig it haha. You're one step ahead in the game with a tC =]

The only con i can think of is the lil power it has stock. But then again, like op07tc said, it has lots of potential if u put ur time and dedication to it.

Had my tC for 3 months and i enjoy driving it every time.

the civic will be stolen, mazda is owned by ford and might be filling for bankruptcy and the saab is an ok car. the tC probably has the most features for the price and looks the best. a con is that it's a price point car, so don't come expecting perfection. most cars will have some sort of rattle, but those can be taken care of. a pro is maintenance is cost effecting doing yourself or taking it to a dealer if that is an issue. a con can be the all glass roof if you were to take a rock to it while driving, but it's nice to have there.

Lol there are way too many Civics out on the road, I dont think they are numero option 1 for thieves to steal. Honestly if its going to be a daily driver, take the tc. Best bang for you buck. Any car has potential performance wise, but I dont think the tC can make any decent power at all for its weight and whatnot unless you go boost. The bolt ons simply dont really do much, and boost is expensive so the money spent on it could be used with the money paid for the car to get something with a little more oomph.

i'd keep the 240 and swap a sr20det motor in there....but you can get the tc as a daily driver.

ha SR20, put in an RB26, or a CA18, There are so many SR20s out there. But I like my tC, but I don't plan on keeping it for long. I would go with the 9-3 with XWD, throw a chip in there and you have a nice car.
