Default Brake Pad Selection

I was thinking of upgrading my brake pads because i cant opt for the bbk just yet. I am going to do the front and rear pads. Which pads would anyone suggest, I was thinking Axxis plus pads or Ultimate pads or should i go with the Hawk pads? I dont plan on hitting up the track anytime soon, so i was thinking just go with one of the axxis pads.

Is there anyone that has just changed the pads and noticed any difference when braking or should i not even bother and just stick with the stock pads?

Are the stock parts worth keeping and saving myself the hassle unless i plan on hitting the track?

Thanks everyone.

i upgraded to slotted rotors and axxis ultimate in the front and deluxe in the rear. i havent felt much difference but it looks nice, when its clean. axxis puts out a lot of brake dust. it might be because im running slotted rotors but not sure. it washes off but you still have to work at it.

i'v heard that upgrading to stainless steel brake hoses really helps, i plan on doing it when i have the funds in a few months.

i have never been on the track, i did it more for show.

I'm assuming by Hawk, you mean race pads. I don't know if Hawk makes street pads, I've only bought race pads from them. I wouldn't even go to the race pad type material UNLESS you were planning on hitting the track, and even then I would only put those pads on WHILE you were at the track.

Race pads operate in a whole different temperature range than street pads, and you'll never be able to generate those temperatures even with the most extreme of street driving. Thus, race pads will actually suck in stopping your car, they'll throw off tons of dust, and they'll squeak like crazy.

The way I've always judged pads and calipers... if you're able to lock up your tires or engage ABS, then you already have enough brakes (pads and caliper size) and you don't need to upgrade.

You can alter pedal feel by actually adjusting the pedal, I believe, and that's free. Also, different pads have different modulation properties, so the right pads will "feel" grippier. You'll have to experiment with that.

axxis deluxe pad is not that expensive. i go the front and back for $92 from Dezod. I am very happy with axxis deluxe pads.
On normal driving, they seem to bite more than stock pads. I hardly ever do hard braking on my tc. So i can't really tell you how much they are better than stock under hard driving.

I noticed quite a difference with the Axxis Ultimate Pads over OEM pads. As stated, they have more
bite but are a bit on the dusty side. I might upgrade to SS lines in the Spring.

I had the stock pads nd they sucked nd I wasnt able to lock up my tires at ALL so I put on some EBC green stuff pads cus hawk street pads r supposed to be the best but they only make front pads for the tc. The green stuff kick a ton of brake dust up nd squeak occasionally when im not braking at all nd then sometimes theyll squeek for a split second when I get on the brakes. other than that theyr amazing. def helped the braking feel and made my car out brake my friends E63 amg mercedes. I recommend them big time

i have axxis deluxe break pads front/rear and it sure was alot better than my worn out stock brake pads, later added stop tech front/rear slotted rotors and noticed a difference in rainy days as well and soon to upgrade to dezo red stainless steel brake lines. but the deluxe will hold up fine just be prepared for the amount of brake dust it throws with stock rotors, slotted rotors makes it worst but hey it stop better and that is what you need from rear ending a car infront of you.
