Without it the shifter would run smack into the console Scionic 01-21-2004, 05:19 AM i hate second gear.....feels notchy and sometimes I grind hard because it's hard to get in!!!! showpaojoe 01-21-2004, 05:20 AM the quick shift is nice but you can only appreciate it after driving stock for like 2 weeks. its a big difference if you know the car but to others, they couldn't tell for some reason tho, my clutch is doing that grinding thing more often like i let the clutch out too fast. even when i shift fast as hell it's getting sloppier tbblizzard 01-21-2004, 05:20 AM mine was rough for the first couple hundred miles, i'm at 1900 miles and it shifts smooth now. i also have a shortened shifter so that may make a difference. bBted 01-21-2004, 05:21 AM i hate second gear.....feels notchy and sometimes I grind hard because it's hard to get in!!!! i had same problem too  hate it korbendalis 01-21-2004, 07:23 AM cant say that im any where close to good at shifting, its probably that which i have had the most trouble with in driving, period. I thot it was the all the gearing... or the clutching, or, some fault of the car... **good ol "Blameless Society" America** gotta love it... :P But no.. there is definitely something about driving it cold, 2nd gear is a pain, however once its warmed up (which sometimes mine never gets in the 0.8 mile commute i have), it shifts fine... provided the Dr. Pepper isnt sweating daverf230 01-22-2004, 03:47 AM Are you talkin about a automatic where it shifts too early?? TheRedBox 01-22-2004, 08:59 PM I have it. I hate it. I adjusted my shifting style, so it's better now. But i still hate it. eej 01-28-2004, 02:24 AM If you guys think the xB is a hard shifter, your're smokin crack! My Celica GT-S -- now that bastard is a stiff, close-ratio beeeeaaaach. |
