Default wastegate spring question.

I know Tial springs are the way to go, but is this a good spring? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

Its a good bit cheaper than a Tial.

uhm...it's a spring...how much money does this spring save you versus the price of fixing the components that could be damaged should this spring fail?

don't boost on a budget, and don't buy generic junk off ebay.

The difference between a generic wastegate and a purpose built spring such as greddy, tial, or hks is that the performance manufactures use springs that are specifically built for high heat and continuous heat cycles also the spring rates are all measured to a very narrow tolerance meaning if they say it will produce 8.7 psi in a 38 or 35mm housing thats what it will do... Generic springs are just that... they are a spring that someone found that fits in the housing and may under some instance produce 8.7psi but will not hold that pressure because the spring was not heat treated for that type of application... Their spring was supposed to be part of a garage door openner and they just happened to fit in you tial 38 mm wastegate... just an FYI and 35 and 38mm wastegate will not produce the same boost using the same spring.
