first time washing my filter/pics of my poorman CAI
so i decided to clean my intake since i got a little spending money and i had it all apart anyway from cleaning my s/c oil inlet. this is the filter i have.

its the trd HI-flow drop in filter and as you can see its dirty. the reason its so dirty is because of my poorman cai. (ill show later). anyway i bought the k&n cleaning kit and went to work, first here is what the bottom of the box looks like.

anyways i took the filter in the house and sprayed it down and washed it out a couple times and this is what the tub looks like,(remember this is all in my intake)

anyway i though that it was very dirty and wanted to share but now on to the poorman intake, what it is, is a dryer vent, it goes from the intake inlet, to the vent on the front bumper. i just forced it a little into the intake box and ziptied it to the black mesh plastic piece, i took the mesh and drilled the biggest holes without breaking the mesh look, its kinda hidden away so u cant see it from the outside and ive notic a differece, here are some pics,

some may call it rice but really i dont think it is cuz first it serves a purpose, and second and not something and everyone sees, he is a pic without the mesh

well i hope yall enjoyed

lol dont call that your poorman intake, call it the gangsta goodguy intake. its just your own version of ram air. Ram air is very common, i have it too exept mine isnt a dryer hose. Anyway im curious as to long how have u driven it before it was last cleaned, or since it was new? Im on 10k miles since i last cleaned mine, im wondering if my filter is that dirty.
i have the same setup but i was too lazy to drill holes in the vent cover so i just left it off. man with all that dirt and what not you could have clogged your tub! when i have some spare time im probably going to clean my stuff out also.
yeah i kinda realized that too but that ring is from the filter cleaner that you spray on that is suppose to lift the dirt. i didnt think it as that dirty and thats y i did it in there. but hey i know next time
Dang dude. Just because K&N says you can go 1million miles without cleaning your filter doesnt mean to do it. LOL That is alot of dirt. How many miles you drive without cleaning it? I went liek over 19k without cleanign my injen and it wasnt close to that dirty. I have my bumper vent out even. It looks kinda wierd but oh well my bumper is dented anyways so i dotn care. Hope to have APT fogs soon anyways.
