Default what are the OEM brakes on the xA? Semi-metalic or ceramic

Are the OEM xA pads semi metalic or ceramic? I like the stopping distance on the car currently but they need to be changed (57,000 miles). I put ceramics on my wifes last car and it never stopped right. Short stops weren't good but longer stops from higher speeds seemed better. I want to maintain or improve the stopping caacteristics that I have. b

The brakes sucked on my xa. Hated the way the petal went right to the floor, dealer said thats normal.

Really?
I'm a really smooth stopper (I think so anyway) and can ease onto the brake pedal to slow down...has a good enough bit of resistance so as to not jerk people around inside the car.

I like my brake petal to feel like I am stepping on a rock. My brake petal went tothe floor. Yeah, the brakes worked for stopping the car, but I just hated the fact it felt like the clutch petal.

Thats ok, the xb gen 2 brakes are dead on. Nice and grippie.

Hmmm maybe your foot is just heavier than mine.

Today changed front disc brake pads on 06 xA with 48K miles, old pads still had approx 40% of the pad left.

Getting ready for another long trip to Florida,Key West and St Augustine.

PS both new and old were semi-metal pads.

It said may have been supplied... I dont think that they are ceramic. As I said I want to maintain my present braking respose. I hated the way the ceramics worked on my wifes car. I know that they are supposed to seat into the rotors but that never did happen on those. I wonder if the rotor material wasn't compatible.

they are semi-metallic. also, i'd only recommend toyota brand; toyota's braking systems are notoriously fickle when it comes to pads and shoes.
