I personally have Polk Audio component speakers 6.5 in the doors and 5.25 in the rear pushed 2 polk amps. My head unit is Sony XAV-W1 dvd players. My sub is a Scosche box that fits under the cargo storage bin. I love it, not noticeable by the view, but sounds great!

Doors = 6.5"
Dash = 3"
Rear = 5.25"

The stock speakers are built into their own mounting bracket. You'll have to either fab something up or purchase mounting rings for the speakers. These can be bought from several vendors including Crutchfield and Elemental Designs.

The stock speakers are not that bad when given some good clean power. Have you thought of replacing the factory HU first?

The Scosche is great b/c it is super stealth and loses no cargo space!

Depends on your musical likes and how much room you want to lose to the box. I have 2x 12's in 2.2 cu/ft and it takes up almost all of the rear cargo area. But on 1200w, it sounds great!

Be sure to check out Elemental Designs stuff. Good value, nice equipment, killer customer service!

Tanakasan is correct. It all depends on what you want and how much room you are willing to sacrifice.
If you listen to mostly rock, a sealed 10" or two would give you that nice accurate thump from a kickdrum. If you listen to a lot of hiphop or techno and want a setup that will rattle the fillings out of your head, then some 12"s or larger in a vented enclosure is probably going to be more to your liking.
