Hi everyone...

I have been looking at a new set of headers (plan to start working with the engine once I hit 32k miles.. I'm at 16k so I am half way there...)

Now I have the headers here on ScionLife, but I came across www.nexusindustry.com in super street mag. if you take a look at their dino tests, they seem to have some ok gains http://www.nexusindustry.com/alpha_interface_dyno.htm of +4bhp, +3tq.

with our little box every little bit helps

what are the results of the other headers (DC for example)

Maybe its time someone sets up a header shoot out.

wow $435.00 for that one!:shock: Not sure if I want to pay that much. The DC header is cool enough for me I guess, nice header though. Very clean.


mmm the dyno shows 78.82 stock HP, but the stock HP is supposed to be 94hp. Isn't it? :shock:

78 or so is a stock auto. a stock manual is like 89-92 hp normally. i'd go with the megan racing header . stainless steel and only 135shipped approx

got my megan header for 100 picked up

sweet deal. i got mine for 130 shipped. it was a first gen tho had to use my own bolts. the newer ones are threaded now so u can reuse stock bolts to downpipe

havent put them on yet but i will in about an hour

I just wish that one someone had dyno'd all the headers....

to be honest, if I put one in my xb... +200 bucks to get a nice boost to my HP...

I wounder do thw other headers have dyno results... anyone have links?

they are all practically the same. only diff is materials , finish ,price , and brand

the el prototypes and dc header seem to be the best right now.

got my megans on and they made a difference I think at least it sound louder and a little more pull in high end.

to find the megan racing header go to ebay. search for scion header , and then click on the ones that state stainless steel. if u look it up it will say megan racing on the page.

ive got a set of alphaworks, which is distributed by nexus on the way, first production set is comin my way, its nice sometimes to know people, and sema can be a great place to meet them :D but ill let everyone know my dyno results with bith their header and the cat-back they are sending me

Anyone with the DC Header notice a louder noise almost as if some air is escaping when on the accelator or in reverse?

thats just a poor seal somewhere.

I am working on welding a Equal Length Manifold together.....we will see how it works out

Hey how was the H.P. header it looks better than the Megan Header. I was just wondering if you had seen any difference between the H.P. header and maybe the D.C. or Megan Headers? :)

hp? dont know bout that one but i can just about guarantee that all of em will be within 1hp and one tq of each other

Have you seen the OEM header it is the crappiest design ever
Where the 4 pipes come together to 1 the 4 pipes are smashed together and really restrictive

all the headers look quite similar. all yield approx the same gains.

Because of the short lengths involved, or lack of room, you prolly won't see much of a deviation in designs from whomever produces a header for the xB.

In the picture here the welds look very nice (quality) But I notice there is not an auxilary support bracket near the end of the header where the intermediate pipe mounts like on the stock manifold. I have seen pictures of a header that has this bracket mount. Any one know the manufacure of the header with the brace mount or is the extra support really needed I would think it would be knowing the amount of vibration a 4 cylinder can make without the extra support there is a lot of stress on the manifold flange welds at the head.

i know the el prototypes has it. it's not really needed tho.

Looks pretty nice and now I need to find where to buy it. Check their site and cant find it... And I don't know which ebay auction is the meagan racing header.

ebay. it's the auction stating stainless steel. just make sure when u check the listing it states megan racing , another way to know is the kinda tanish colored warranty card with megan racing printed on it

they do come w/ new gaskets (see pics above)
bolts/studs. they do not come w/ it. also you will need to get a longer bolt w/ nut for your exhaust flange. the old ones are too short. (per hotbox05 & OrAnGeBoX)

actually the second gen fits , it wasnt that the bolts were too short it was that my almost prototype wasnt threaded so the flange needed longer bolts with seperate nuts to hold it all together. but yeah i love my setup.

so hotbox05, would we stiil need diff size dia.,length bolts w/ nut?? help me, dawg :D

if your newer header has threaded holes on the header to down pipe flange then no. if those are clean holes then yes longer bolts and new nuts.
