Default which sounds better a larger cone or a smaller cone on a AEM

iv had it in 4awhile but iv been hearing a smaller cone makes it sound better??? as of righit now i have a HUUGGEEE cone that it came with..don't get me wrong i like the sound of it as of right now, but i want it LOUD

any help???

The cone size wont make that much of a difference in sound...but will make a difference in power of your CAI...the more air flow you get to the intake manifold the better. Personally I have an Injen CAI...but they all work on the same principle... I would go with the "cone" aka "filter" that is recommended by AEM for your intake and you'll be happy. you want more sound? Get a header and exhaust. I've got a new Megan one listed on here for sale. Nice power, and exhaust note too.

or take your hood off and leave your window open.....really though, smaller filter is probably a badddd idea. Id guess itd choke your motor a bit up top. I'm sure the major brands do some engineering work to determine airflow requirements and who knows how big of a factor of safety was thrown in.
