Default Taking the tC to a Drive-In

I know it's the wrong time of year and drive-in movie theaters are few and far between these days, but I was thinking that the tC would be great for one. Just park with the rear end facing the screen, open the hatch, fold over the rear seats so you can lay down, and enjoy.

My only question is, does the dome light stay on as long as the hatch is open with the key in the ACC position? If so, then forgot the whole idea

Um... If you could fold the seats the other wya it might be good, but if you fold the rear seats flat, you're not going to have the most comfortable space unless you've got a lot of blankets and pillows in there. There is no better drive-in car than a pickup. Face it backward with a mattress in the bed. That works pretty nice.

Ah, that's right. There's the switch right on the lights where you can just switch them to off completely.

I figure if you put something on top on the rear seats, you can fold them forward so they don't lay down completely. That way you have a bit of an incline to watch the movie... if indeed you go to a drive-in to watch the movie ;-)

Right... you could do that. Or you could do like Dante said - turn the car into "party mode" or whatever they call it. If you get the right angle, you might be able to see out the sunroof. You lose a lot more angle of vision out the front from being far back, but it might be nice for... other things

With the hatch open someone behind you would probably get ____ed off.
It is sad there are not as many drive-ins. The last one in OC that I knew of became an evil WalMart

I doubt it... there are actually a couple drive-ins left in San Diego (don't know about Seattle - the weather doesn't really work for it here) and they are all arranged with little "hills" to angle your car up toward the screen. Because of this you don't have a big problem blocking other peoples' line of sight.
