Well, it's a bittersweet departure for my beloved box. I just bought a new ride so I had my xB for sale. Today, the wife and I decided to give it to her 19 year old daughter. She is recently married and expecting her first child. She has been attending college part time as well as working full time to pay the way. Her hubby works full time installing automatic car wash systems. They are both hard working and responsible but have terrible transportation. Hence, our decision to gift them the car.

At least it will be staying in the family, even if they live 300 miles away. They could use a break and we are fortunate enough to be in the position to cut it loose.

We still have the xD RS 1.0 so I'll still be here.

Wow. I am SO proud of you. Keep your box in the family and help someone who needs it? How could you do better??

Well done! Props to ya!

And you can still see and drive the box...if you can talk your daughter into it!

Great parents you are and I am sure she's a great daughter!

Thanks guys. She drove it back to Tennessee today. I said goodbye to a car I figured I would have for many more years. It is a great car and I will certainly miss it. Good thing wifey has a Scion too!

im sure they will really enjoy the car.. not only will they love the xb, but they will have a great story to tell everyone about how they acquired it. and i believe in if you give then you will receive.. very nice gesture!

when i had an 05 mustang, i had a sweet bbk intake, when i no longer had the car, someone in my complex had one, so one day i walked up to him.. said hey you got an intake on that stang? he replied with a no.. so i said hold on.. i come back with my intake and some tools.... put it on for him right there free of charge..
i figured, why sell it, when i can give it to him and make his day.. im sure he went home or to work or wherever and told everyone about what happened.. i find that way more satisfying than just getting some cash for it.

Lucky girl for sure. The only free car my dad gave me was a $300 junker back in the late 70's. Kids today seem to have it made.

I give away stuff all the time, same reasons you stated above.

I got no free car when I was a kid, but my brother did. He was young and got married and started a family. He was very responsible and my folks got him a new car. A Renault 10. If a kid is responsible and works hard and just needs a break I think it's great to be able to help.

Very nice gift. I was given an old "family"truck when I was young, and one of biggest regrets in my life, is selling it 13 years later (no one in family wanted it). Keep it in the family! Again, nice going.

I drove our family truck in high school. It wasn't given to me but the deal was if I wanted to drive it I had to maintain it (wash, tune-ups, oil changes, etc.). Back then (the 70's) cars were more basic and needed regular tune-ups every 3-4,000 miles. I always enjoyed working on the truck and the family car and sometimes wish our cars were more simple, but that's for another thread.
