I just got home from a holiday trip from Texas to my home in the northeast. I got caught in the big snowstorm that blanketted the south starting on about the 22nd, and I was pleasantly surprised by the xB's performance in the snow and ice. Between the traction control and manual transmission, I had a pretty easy time of it. I saw plenty of SUV's, pickups, etc off the road, being towed away, or in a few cases, totally upside down, but the xB just kept on going.

I would agree that the xb handles well in the snow. Here in No. NJ we've had some snow, and i was surprised at how well i handled.

we just got a bunch of snow here and I had no problems at all with the handling. i had to TRY and get the skid control to go on. mine is lowered about two inches too.

We got some snow here in upstate Arizona. My xB handled just great in the snow w/stock suspension, and factory alloy wheels. It felt well-balanced and sure-footed.

Mine handled great, but we got 19" and there were areas where I did not want to travel into the deeper stuff. The traction control is great for getting going. I floored it on packed snow and got going very easily. Stock suspension, factory alloy wheels, stock tires.

On ice one time my rear end shot out quickly to the right. The VSC beeped and light flashed. I kept the wheels pointed in the direction I wanted to go and it fixed itself. No ill effects except for the poo in the pants.

When driving in the snow, the traction control light would flick on and off every once in awhile when one of the wheels lost traction. Once, I hit a patch of black ice while going about 35 mph, and the trac control light came on and it started making a beeping sound. I luckily got control back over the vehicle, but if you ever hear that beeping, it'll freak you out.

No problems in the snow here after it had been packed down from 3 feet to 6 inches or so.
