xB winter performance
I just got home from a holiday trip from Texas to my home in the northeast. I got caught in the big snowstorm that blanketted the south starting on about the 22nd, and I was pleasantly surprised by the xB's performance in the snow and ice. Between the traction control and manual transmission, I had a pretty easy time of it. I saw plenty of SUV's, pickups, etc off the road, being towed away, or in a few cases, totally upside down, but the xB just kept on going.

Mine handled great, but we got 19" and there were areas where I did not want to travel into the deeper stuff. The traction control is great for getting going. I floored it on packed snow and got going very easily. Stock suspension, factory alloy wheels, stock tires.
On ice one time my rear end shot out quickly to the right. The VSC beeped and light flashed. I kept the wheels pointed in the direction I wanted to go and it fixed itself. No ill effects except for the poo in the pants.

hahahhahahah well i dunno what kinda stuff on my xb..I KNO very sad...but in chicago, its been snowing like crazy like about 9 inches to 10 inches of snow! and i am SOOO suprised that i only got stuck once for like 5 seconds.theheeh...BUT i mean for a car with super duper small wheels..it handles GREAT..i love it..and i feel safe...hahahahaha
When driving in the snow, the traction control light would flick on and off every once in awhile when one of the wheels lost traction. Once, I hit a patch of black ice while going about 35 mph, and the trac control light came on and it started making a beeping sound. I luckily got control back over the vehicle, but if you ever hear that beeping, it'll freak you out.
I live in lake jackson texas which is near the coast and we had atleast 9 inches of snow. my car handles well in the conditions. i have a drop and some 19's and it still did good. i was highly impressed.
i live in washington and this morning it was all icy out and ppl were having probs but the scion had none i have a stick and performance tires on and i did not slip really a couple of times starting out but thats it
