LowProMofo 01-08-2005, 05:31 PM Are these safe and can he get the colored flames? fusionscion 01-08-2005, 06:42 PM the kits are tested and are safe, if you hook it up right and dont mess around trying to get a 30 ft flame outta the kit.... he can make kits designed for the bigger flames, if thats ur thing but i think the normal size would be perfect for scions...... ill ask him about colored flames, i think they are the regular flame color not sure how he could make a purple flame or something cuz it runns off of extra fuel in the exhaust pipe.... not like a tank just the leftovers, and yes all cars have leftover fuel in the exhaust..........ill ask though hawaiian_homegrown 01-08-2005, 09:18 PM got a vid of it in action? showpaojoe 01-08-2005, 09:32 PM It's not possible to shoot even 10ft flames with a basic kit like that. You would need an external fuel cell and hook it up to shoot straight gas through the exhaust...that's how you get 20' flames. Those kinds of kits easily run upto $400 plus install cuz if you fuk up...you've got a fuel line running to a fuel cell...which can blow up. Just go to a hot rod shop and they can build you a competition kit that will shoot 10'+ flames for around $250-300. If this is just the spark kit with solenoid, controller, etc... (which it sounds like)...then you're going to have to remove the catalytic convertor and then you've got you sensor lights staying on all day...but there's ways around that for more money...and then you have to worry about HUGE fines if you get cought with that on your car. That's the jist of it and I have run the competition kit on my barracuda so post up the parts list cuz if it's the same one as I think it is...then I know the direct factory that sells em for like $40. Sounds like to much work and worry to me! George 01-08-2005, 10:01 PM Are these safe...? Wouldn't that depend upon who is standing right behind your car when you lit it off? :) windowtint 01-09-2005, 02:09 AM you're not really supposed to be installing these on FI motors - it's intended for carburated cars. It's possible, but it's also another way to screw something up. fusionscion 01-09-2005, 02:14 AM actually scratch that idea, i just talked to him in depth today, and they can cause probs and ____ and are a bad idea, they work if u take out the cat or let the cat rot away then install it...... but not a good idea scratch that...... anybody wanna lock or get ride of this post?? lol  bad idea to start this thread hotbox05 01-09-2005, 02:21 AM what about a propane flame kit? i'd do that. Max2k 01-09-2005, 02:32 AM You'd drive around with a propane tank? I'd be worried about the explosion that would happen if got rear ended. Max2k//no mods that interfere with safety showpaojoe 01-09-2005, 07:44 AM I warned you If you want it, I can show you how to do it with a basic kit, removing the cat, and adding something else so the lights don't come up. I had a full manifold back exhaust without the cat and didn't have any lights come on with my setup. It took a while to get it right but me and Stylis worked out the whole thing even though it was all theoretical at first...I got it to work. fusionscion 01-09-2005, 05:15 PM I warned you If you want it, I can show you how to do it with a basic kit, removing the cat, and adding something else so the lights don't come up.
