i have searched for the dimensions of the cargo area for the 2009 xB with the back seats folded down, and have been unsuccessful in finding them, i have just found the cubic feet when i really just want the length x width floor dimensions.

is it possible for someone to measure the length and width of the back of the car?

It's not a nice clean rectangle, but hopefully these dims will help you out:

About 60" from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch, depending on where you like the front seat.
About 55" between the rear doors.
About 39" wide at the narrowest place on the rear floor, between the plastic covers over the shocks.
About 51" wide halfway up (between the floor and the ceiling) just inside the rear hatch.

I hope that gives you what you need to know for whatever it is you're evaluating.
