Default Wierd startup issue

So sometimes when i start up my car, it starts up half way and then dies out. I've got the clutch in and turn the key and sometimes it sputters and starts up for like 1 second and then it turns off. I'm thinking its either something to do with the spark plugs or if a grounding kit might solve this problem. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the engine immobilizer is shutting down the engine.

I had the same problem when i had my remote start installed. Installer hooked up the immobilizer by pass wrong and my car would immediately start for a second and then die.

Try using your valet or other master key and see if that changes the problem. Do you have a security or remote start system installed?

^^x2- Yea mine has done that a few times. In the owners manual it will tell you that if like a key ring is blocking the immobilizer chip it will shut the car off. So it is probably just that.

Ive notice this happens to me when its the first startup of the day, when its like 40-50 degrees out side. I think its the oil is maybe too cold, and kinda thickens up a bit. It would start happening when I need to change my oil, so I should probably change it again.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with the oil. Sometimes it might not read the code right for the key, that is my guess. This is what it says about the key ring, "when starting the engine, do not use the key with a key ring resting on the key grip and do not press the king against the key grip. Otherwise the engine may not start or may stop soon after it starts."

This happened to me last week. Ended up being my intake was not tight where it connects to the engine not letting the air get sucked directly in on start up and also loss of power when driving.
