Default My 1st True Mod - Garage1217 LED Swap

So a week or so ago, I took the plunge and decided to have some true mods done on my '05 tC finally, after 3+ years of riding true to pretty much stock everything . After speaking with Jeremy H. of Garage1217, and being really impressed with his fantastic customer service attitude and approach, as well as examples of his work, I decided to go with him for an LED swap. As I'm sure many are/were, I was pretty *ugh* with the standard amber color and wanted something subtle that would make the car feel new again. Here are pictures of the final product, and also a video -
. (Note: In the vid, the HU and tripometer on the gauge cluster look amber, but that's just the camera not handling the poor surrounding lighting well. They are very much red. :D And the HVAC system is the only one of the three - gauge cluster, HU, and HVAC - that has the reverse LED swap. The pics don't do that work justice...)

MANY thanks to Jeremy H. - he did an outstanding job and I was only drive-free for a single week.

Thanks! Me too. It gives the car a whole new dynamic when driving at night, which is the time I love being behind the wheel. Nights driving along I-75 in Atlanta, hitting the almost deserted interstates within Birmingham - ah, good times.

Looks a heck of a lot better than the stock set up. Now I guess I need to step up and get this done.

That looks awesome. How much did it cost you, if it's ok to ask. I think teh stock amber looks terrible and DATED. That looks great though. I agree, the red and white is pimp.

Out of respect for Jeremy, I won't say exactly how much, but I guess it should be ok to say that it was under $300, and he was pretty generous with pricing due to my getting all three pieces done at one time. I'm not exactly cheap, but spending $300 on a car upgrade at first seemed a bit frivolous to me. But I don't work just to pay bills - gotta have a life too. And considering how much it would've cost me to replace everything due to my screwing it up in the attempt to do this all my own (lol), and also considering how great of a guy Jeremy is/was through the whole process and my asking about a zillion questions, it was totally worth the cost. It's like I have a brand new car without the nagging payments. lol

You should - I bet that would look killer. I thought about that same color scheme when I started contemplating this whole process, but decided on the red/white scheme because of the example pics on the garage1217 website. Red/white just seemed to call to me from deep within... lol

You will not regret it - trust me. I wouldn't consider myself an auto enthusiast by any means, and I like what I like, typically despite it being different than seemingly everyone else on the planet. But this mod makes me smile everytime I think about it. I think you'll be pleased for weeks on end when you finally take the plunge. :D

Looks nice. Similar to mine except our reds and whites in some places are opposite.

lol @ the batman.

I've had the LEDs laying around for a while to do my dash, maybe I'll get around to do it on Good Friday since I'll have work off. 3 day weekend = modding!

Looks great, and as stated, it looks 10x better, more vivid and stunning in person! LED work is always that way. Cameras never do LED work justice!
