Default Blew my subs, upgrade time!

Okay so previously I was running 2 12 8ohm svc earthquake tremors hooked to a arc 2500xxk bridged at 4ohms. Ya the specs matched decently enough but I blew the subs and can hear the coils rattling really badly. Also I doubt the tremors could realy hold the claimed 625rms.

I'm looking to upgrade while keeping the same amp and box hopefully. The output of the amp kind of limits me in my selection though. It can either deliver around 1150@4ohm bridged, 2x525@2ohm, 2x275@4ohm and is not 2ohm bridgable.

I was really hopeing to run 2 shiva-x which are 12in 8ohm dvc, but wiring them I will either see an 8ohm or 2ohm load. neither of which is ideal for my current amp.

I know I can run 4ohm's to a 8ohm load with out damaging it but it would suck to lose that useable power.

The amp is not bridable at 2ohms but my question is, can I strap the two channels to achieve around 1100@2ohms on one channel? If I can this will work perfect. Those shiva-x are just so awesome with thier 27mm of xmax and xbl2 motors.

I originally built the box for the shiva-x's and bought the amp misinformed but for an outstanding deal. I know the arc 2500xxk is an awesome amp so I'd like to not replace it. Also any sugestions are greatly appreciated on what subs to replace mine with. Right now the box is about 4cuft sealed.
