Default I miss my xA, looking at another one

Hello!

I miss the 2005 xA I sold a few years ago. I'm seeing nice used ones from $7,000 on up. I drove a Yaris last week but got scared off by the nearly $18,000 sticker.

From what I've read in the miles threads here, it looks like xA's are holding up great. Is that the consensus?

In the $7,000 range, I've seen them with about 70K - 80K miles. Any reason to avoid these? Should I up my price target and shoot for lower mileage? In the $9,000 to $10,000 range, I've seen 25K miles or thereabouts -- practically brand new.

I'm inclined to settle for higher mileage to keep the price down, but I thought I'd get some opinions from you guys.

Is an xA with 80K miles just getting warmed up? Or would it need a bunch of work in the near future? I would of course have it inspected before buying.

Thanks.

Wow, the iQ looks great. First I've heard of it. But it looks too small. I want something with a back seat and some cargo space. My old xA was just about right.

And supposedly the same price as a brand new stock xA with less room and power.

So how about back to my original question. Any reason to avoid a used xA with 70,000-80,000 miles or more?

only thing i can think of is the brakes and maybe the water pump

other then that every thing still should be good and the basic maintance things oil change, change the pcv valve, clean the maf sensor maybe spark plugs

It's smaller... You get less for the same money is what I'm saying.

The motor is probably good for a long time, especially if you take into consideration that people are putting chargers on them and keeping the motor stock and aren't blowing them. So as long as they've kept oil and coolant in it, it should be good. It is Toyota remember, the last I saw Toyota was ranked the 2nd most reliable car.

With several reports of the 05-06 xAs exceeding 250,000 original miles you can call it anything you want,I think the xA is one of the best small cars around.

Nothing crappy about it.

I miss my xA too. I'm going to this dealership soon to check out the RS3 they have on the lot. Going to see if it's worth buying since it has low mileage.
