Default weird problem when braking

whenever i hit a bump while braking, the brake pedal will vibrate and i can hear a loud noise, kinda like metal hitting metal in a quick succession. the car stops fine but im wonder what could be the cause of this problem?

Go get your brakes checked is the only answer here.

When I was in a mall parking lot I didn't see a speed bump in time. I tried to brake but ended up
braking while going over the speed bump. My tC did what you described. Probably the ABS kicking
in while going over an uneven surface.

I would tend to agree with ^^ answer as the likely cause.... if you're not used to activating an ABS system on a car...it can feel and sound very strange.... I'd say you're probably okay....but if you need/want extra piece of mind...just have a local brake shop throw it on a lift and give it a quick inspection.

to be honest, I have the same issue and its not only bumps. I even get the noise when i brake and turn. sounds like a creeking metal noise. I haven't figured out what it is though. seems louder when its cold out too. my noise comes from the front of the car only.

Sounds like the ABS, the noise is the ABS actuator controlling the brake pressure, which gets to over 1,000 PSI. When you start turning that pressure on and off in the lines, it makes things jump a bit [ever hear your water pipes make noise when you turn the water off fast?].

The ABS checks the speed of each wheel while you're braking, if the speed changes between wheels the ABS actuator changes the brake pressure at the wheel[s] that are turning slower. If you're braking over bumps, in a turn [especially in sand or water], in snow, ect, it will do this.
