Default 2010 xB Alpine Headunit

New here to the scionlife boards (not new owner, just took a while to get with the program!). Proud 08 NBM xB owner with 11000 miles in 14 months. Excellent car and excellent value, and I can't promote the car enough to friends and family.

Has there been any word on the new Alpine headunit (new for the 2010 models)? It's now showing up on the Scion website, but none of my local dealers have any insight.

It has HD Radio, 3 outputs, and touch screen for $449 MSRP? Sounds like a steal if you could trade up to it from the 08 headunit with the audio credit.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Thanks

You're not getting it for that price. The only way would be to get it when you purchase the vehicle.

Same thing when I bought my premium radio on mine. Buying it with the vehicle was much less than trying to buy it later on.

The second link Robert posted in that thread shows the prices and it shows the Alpine with nav @ $1200.

looks good but if you are thinking about doing a system with this headunit, you have to watch out for what the voltage the ouput on the rca is...if you only have 2 volt output, then the system will not sound as good compared to some eclipse or mcintosh cd players that have 4 volts and more! higher the output the lower you have to set the gain on the amp= cleaner sound.

It also says "available July 2009", I wonder if that means the 2010 xB's will be out before then.

Carson Scion of SoCal has this HU for sale on their website ..I believe I saw it listed for $679..I have the current SNS system but would be interested in this unit for the amp outputs and the rear camera system capability this unit offers...no sighting yet at any dealer by me..anyone else?

I'm going to guess so. The xB hasn't changed at all anywhere else, I can't imagine they changed the wiring harnesses. The previous HUs were interchangeable.

I'm considering a 2010 xB and just came back from the dealership. They have several on the lot with what appears to be this Apline premium audio. They tell me virtually every xB in SE will come with it as a manufacturer-installed option.

For me, it's no big deal since I'm no audiophile and I'd rather have the Navi, bluetooth, and entertainment options of Pioneer AVIC-F series. So assuming I buy the 2010, and install an aftermarket, would there be a market for the factory Alpine HU? I guess if it fits 08-09 xB at least, and bonus if it fits other Scion and non-Scion double-din spaces... And what would the market bear as far as price on an almost pristine, almost never used, freshly ripped from a brand new 2010 model...

Hey all. I'm new. I just got my 2010 silver xb last week. Been loving it so far.

I got the Alpine stereo, so if anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer.
