i had done some black micro suade about a year ago and it was nice, i liked it but it blended way to well and most people didn't even notice it.

on friday i did a fabric that was called Navy Bamboo, it was darker blue embroidered silk with light blue and silver bamboo braches with leaves.
looked real nice and got a great deal on it.
but............................ the fabric was not easy to work with at all. it snaged real easy and the edges were real stringy and i couldn't get it to do what i wanted.

so i pulled it all off and replaced it with some real red micro suade that i also got a great deal on ($3.50 yard)

The red looks really good! I like it a lot!

How hard is it to wrap the fabric like that? I have been interested but sense i have no experience with it i have been a little uneasy about trying it.

 

at this point i could do it in my sleep.

but at first its not an easy mod to do, some fabrics are easier to work with then others, it just takes some patients and some practice.
start with the 2 back doors first and have extra fabric just incase you mess up. the back doors are esaier then the front 2 and you will get enough of a feal for the fabric you are working with to do the front doors.

Liked the black, wasn't really feelin the blue bamboo, but LOVE the red.

the blue....................... man i was tring to be super custom and do something noone elts had tried, realy stand out.
i tried and it was a total FAIL.

im very happy with the red, its flawless!
ill take some better pics latter today and try and get them posted tonight .

How much material did you use on the doors, in total?

Btw, the piece under the center of the dash is a nice touch-- that's an easy thing to overlook.

im not sure how long it lasts, i guess it depends on how you treat it.
it could last for 10 years or more.

the doors are not to hard to do.
the very back pillers are the worst.
everything in my car is micro suade.
the headliner is white
the pillars are black and now the doors are red

 

I like it looks just like mine, the problem I have is I cant find that color anymore. where did you get the fabric?
