UPDATE:
The groups we donate these bears to have asked that we only accept new donations. With the recent health risks out there they just don't want to be giving something out to comfort children that might put them at risk. So for safety and sanitary reasons they have asked that we only accept new bears or stuffed animals for donation. And a good guideline when picking out a bear or stuffed animal is that it be between 6 and 12 inches. A majority of the donations end up in police cruisers and that is the perfect size to fit in their trunk and also for the child to hold onto.

Salt City Saturday Night / Teddy Bear Patrol
UPDATE:
Ok here is a quick Overview of how this event was. We had 50+ cars show up from I am guessing around 5-6 different clubs. There were I am going to estimate at least 80 maybe even close to 100 people there. We collected about 200 bears and other stuffed animals and provided them to the Salt Lake County Sheriff. We gave away all 50 of the free meals that we were giving to those who brought donations. We also threw in a few here and there to people who came to support others in the event. Iceberg provided some t-shirts and hats to give away. Of course we also had some Scion swag to pass out to the Scion owners and gave a few Scion things out to the members of the other clubs.
We got a visit from Russ Wall the Mayor of Taylorsville who brought in a donation with his wife. He couldn’t stay to eat but had a shake and talked to a few people. We had a Deputy from the Sheriff’s office and a Detective from the Taylorsville Police there to help us collect the donations and to also get to know some of the car club people in the area. All in all it was a most EXCELLENT event. In fact we also got a visit from channel 4 news and they did a news piece on the Teddy Bear Patrol which aired last night May 9 09 on the 10 pm news. As soon as it is available online or I figure out how to pull it off my computer since I recorded it I will post that. Also Iceberg tagged me and asked me to plan a couple more of these to do at their other stores. So we will be doing a couple more of them before the end of the year.
We had a great Scikotic / Scion turnout, everyone had a good time and we got to meet some other car enthusiasts and make some new friends. The other clubs that participated had a great turnout as well. Everyone had a good time and it was a feeling of mutual camaraderie. I want to thank all the clubs that came and help to make this event as successful as it was. We appreciate your participation and hope that you will want to join us for future events. I tried to get around and make sure everyone there felt welcomed and was having a good time. If I missed some people please accept my apologies. I was kind of running around like a crazy man (Scikotic) trying to make sure everyone was taken care of with meals and other stuff.
Again thanks to all of you for helping to make this such a success.
Sincerely,
Bill Jones
