I've got an 08 xD, and i'm looking to get a little more power out of it while also possibly picking up some MPGs.

I'm a fairly conservative driver, so gains in the lower RPMs would be preferable.

I've got an AFE SRI, and it has made a difference, but in bouncing around online, and I'm seeing underdrive pulleys, intake manifolds, and exhaust headers...

I'm looking to just get a better driving experience more, so throttle response and quickness are more important than top speed for me.

Any suggestions?

And does anyone know when TRD is going to release an intake and cat-back exhaust for the xD? I'd gladly pay the extra money for the peace of mind of having it under warranty.

Honestly, I wouldnt hold my breathe waiting around for a CAI or an Cat-back for the xD. The xD already runs weird with aftermarket CAIs due to the MAF reading and TRD would never compete with its own parts by releasing an axle-back and a cat-back.

Also, there's no mod that is going to give you more HP and MPG. If this existed, it would come from the factory with it.

I'm not quite as pessimistic as Quiet, but there have been a few members on here that have said that they have seen a pekier throttle and a slight improvement in mpg with a few small tweaks.

the DIY spectre cone filter mod seems to be fairly popular/cheap mod and it apparently perks up the gas pedal as well as allegedly SLIGHTLY improving fuel economy.

As far as exhaust, its true that there is NO cat back, BUT, you could do what some on here have done, and what I plan to do, which is get an axle back, do a secondary cat-delete, and have an exhaust shop use some larger dia pipe to connect the whole thing together.

there are other threads in this section that go into more detail, which i wont here, but again...SOME people have noticed SLIGHT gains, be they real or just sensed, many seem to have had luck with the two i've just described and BOTH can be had for less than $500 probably depending on what kind of exhaust work you do.

yeah, i was just wondering if anyone had heard rumors of a cat-back yet. i think i'm going to wait until TRD does eventually come out with one.

and the SRI from AFE has made a difference in the fuel economy and the car is a bit more responsive.

any experience with intake manifolds or the under drive pulley?

Intake mani development is at a standstill (see thread), and from what i've heard there seems to be an excellent reponse to the NST underdrive pulley. I dont have one ...yet... but people are saying that its help their engine be More responsive, increase fuel econ....etc.
