Gonna need more than boost to take down a Cooper S, especially the new turbo ones. I've seen them do mid 14's in the 1/4, bone stock.

I doubt it, a 220whp xd should run the same if not better in the quarter mile than the mini s

don't know. it was interesting. I'm sure I looked like a ricer to that guy, but I had to know. I realized today I also made that run with the defog on too. hammer to the head. but it wasn;t as bad as you'd think. have to control first gear first. I also have the filter swap.

I'm going to have to call BS on 'coulda almost had him'. A Cooper-S runs with things like S2K's, Si's w/bolt ons, S/C tCs, Cobalt SS's, etc. Either the guy had no clue how to drive or he was toying with you.

what if we dont have time to "take it to the track"? What if we like the randomness of stopping at a red light, and looking over at the guy next to you, knowing its on? I work 7 days a week and if I feel like having a little speed rush then I will, I will and have done so since the day I got my liscence. Why is it that street racers are the only ones that get crap about reckless driving? What about all these soccer moms that ride my butt in traffic, cut me off, change lanes without signaling and alot of the time have to slam on THEIR brakes because im coming to a stop and their too busy diddling with something in their car?Or all the guys in the jacked up trucks that think they own the road and do the same things? Or all the idiots that drive horribly because theyre staring at their crotch texting on their phones?Or just drive crappy in general because their focused on talking on their cell and not actually driving...

I am one of the most courteous drivers you will ever find( especially in houston), I use my turn signals, dont tailgate people, never answer/talk/or text on my phone and never cut anyone off,yet from time to time when I have some clear road I like to go fast if someone wants to play. You people are just basing your judgment of street racing on those idiots who think they know how to drive, hit the gas and cant react to situations that may occur(i.e loss of traction, someone pulling out in front of them, not being able to slow down quick enough, and many other reasons their little minds can't react quick enough and accidents happen).

Nope, have no accidents to this day that were my fault other than a woman rear ending my xD the first week I had it because she couldnt slow down and wait for the person in front of me to make his right turn. She was trying to get in the left lane to go around me before she got up to me but couldn't, so proceeded to plow into the car.

i can understand where your coming from but when you find out the hard way that your not invincible, you will find the time to go to the track to get that rush youre looking for. promise.

This is a Scion forum. There are no soccer mom's on this site (as far as we know) posting about how they were trying to get around some slowpoke in the fast lane or what have you.

Males under 30(? don't remember anymore) are the number one reason why insurance rates are so high for you guys. It's because of the racing crap guys pull to either have fun or show who's the better driver/male.

If you have that much testosterone in your system, you need to find a different way to relieve it.

Plus, you should know better when you make a post about racing, trying to beat another car, etc. that you're going to get crap for it.

wow street racing ftl. yeah from time to time I open it up, but to a certain extent, after u see and hear of a friend dyin bc of "racing" or even worse bc of SOMEONE ELSE "racing" that took his life short for no reason necessary, but ofcourse to gain alittle more street cred bc he raced a car then u shouldn't really defend it the way u do. yeah noone has time to always go to the track doesn't it make it right to do it on the street where they're many many other helpless people minding there own business trying to not have to worry bout sum1 speeding passed them possibly taking out there families. happened to my friends both dying bc of racing and also bc of the result of other people racing. u know we have econo-4 bangers. we don't drive le mans cars or v8's with REAL power, our cars are to be driven not pushed to the limits jus to come immediatly to a quick stop on the street. TC, XD, XB watever it is, its not fast.

And you should know when you post something anti street racing in a street racing post you're going to have something said to you back. I've been down this path before when I was part of other forums, and they actually had a section for street racing where people were supposedly able to talk about their experiences openly and get no grief for it, yet people would still come in there and run their mouths about how much they hate street racing. So I ran mine right back. Yes I am aware that this site has no street racing section, that im aware of, so I expected people to whine about it all the more.

we arent going to be the ones whining about it when you have your revelation. you should take it more as a good group of people trying to lead you in the right direction through past experiences.

Actually Im just going to delete my account on here, I don't really gain anything from this site, other than the few parts id like to put on my car. Which i wouldnt have to have had an account to find out about, i can just find out about new parts by looking on here. No one really cares about the mods I do to my car except maybe 1 guy, so its really just a waste of my time and effort to take pics and post em or even be a part of this site at all. Since no one is of a like mind to me. All i really do here is give a few "good jobs" on that mod and random comments about other stuff people have done to their cars. I wouldnt be deleting it but its late at night, and I made the mistake of saying I like street racing and defending it, so now pretty much all the regulars on this site are going to dislike me and ignore me. So no use being here.

well, for the record, we did what basically mounted two a one-twoe shift and I popped third cuz i was out of gear. it was over. i don't stop light drag race AS I STATED in the original post on a regular basis. hell, i barely drive. I still haven't cracked 10k on the Odo . did he toy with me. maybe. I don't care. it's not like there were cars lined down both sides of the road watching. we were the only two cars. so all those that are typing ftl and I'm stupid. whatever...we gotta get our rocks off once inwhile. have I crashed goofing off. yup. how do you think my xD got banged up. was it stupid? yup. do I still carve a corner or two when I have a chance? yup. If I was still in Cali, I'd still be up in the mountains corner carving there like I used to do. harder to do here in the midwest with all the roads straight as an arrow. so one run once a year is fine.
