Default What do u guys recommend for speakers with neutral highs.

I think the stock speakers suck and I don't like bright speakers, so what do you guys recommend that has smooth highs for $150 or less?

I am considering Alpine SPS-600C or Alpine SPR-13S.

Would an amp be a necessity for the SPS-600C?

i got the 600's and i like them. hooked them up to an amp to get a bit more power out of them. no distortion when nearly full blast.

I did find the morel tempos for $160 at audiostream.com. I don't know if they are a ligitimate place to buy from, but that seems to be alot cheaper than anybody else.

Are Morel's know to be bright, laid back, or neutral?

Right now im deciding between Focal and Morel. I think they are the best on the market for SQ. I have had about 3 different component sets by Focal but havent heard their subs yet. I wanna pick up a full set from either one of them so so so so bad . . . I want all their top of the line stuff though, big bucks for equipment and then even more big bucks for a KILLER install. Have some big dreams but not enough $$ for it . . . . not yet at least! Check out the polyglass series component set by Focal. They are fricken awesome and I guarantee you will love them. GUARANTEE!! You can rum them without an amp if you want to but you wont get a tenth of the experience. just pick up some cheap amp off crutchfield so you at least have a warranty and pretty damn good sound!

Oh and just so you know, the tweeter on the polyglass series isnt so "neutral" like you were asking, its got some great sound but a lil brighter than some people like them to be. I love those speakers though, killer sound at a decent price

Terms such as "neutral" and "bright" are subjective and opinions will vary from listener to listener. What you need to do is visit some car audio shops and listen to various speakers yourself, so you can determine what's best for YOU.
