Default Broken side mirror - Fix? New? Oem vs. aftermarket?

Whatup y'all. I recently bought my box. Black Sand Pearl, 60k miles. I'm pretty stoked about it, but it came with a cracked passenger sideview mirror. Does anyone have any experience with this? The body shops all say you have to replace the whole unit, but I've seen fix kits. Anyone used that? How about buying a new mirror? Are the $50 ebays going to do the same job as an OEM salvage or new part?

I'd like to get the mirror working and looking like it did originally for as cheap as possible.

I did search, but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

Here's a link to TRD sparks. They'll send you a whole assembly. The ebay mirrors are sufficient, but the glass is really small.

Thanks burst... A little steep @ $166. I guess I'm most curious about THIS option. Ever heard as to whether or not that works?

The quality of the replacement "glass" really sucks from those repair kits. Your best option is to check through a salvage yard or even contact LKQ (nationwide salvage yard). I'm sure you could get a damn good mirror through them.

I'd never get a repair kit. So the housing is fine, but just the glass is bad?

Yea, I'm realizing the repair kit isn't an option... the housing is *ok*. Acceptable for now in any case. And so I'd like to find a cheaper alternative than buying a whole unit (like - can a glass place put in a new mirror? Can I get one at the hardware store?)

I saw an RS2 in the parking lot across the street yesterday and found myself walking past it three or four more times than was actually necessary... I didn't realize that those mirrors were just on the RS2?

I can sell you a pair of stock ones if you want - good condition. They are PW though, and I don't want to sell just one. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Thanks Mox but I'd rather not paint... Did you replace them with something else? If so, what?

I had a side mirror sheer off from a basketball goal falling at my brothers house one day, and I found a replacement one on Ebay for like $90 shipped, it was ready for paint, but my mirrors were already flat black it it matched the other fine.

Yeah I replaced mine with a pair of OEM ones that have LED turn signal covers on them. Bought them off an OG member here when he parted out his box - Orataro. I've been trying to get rid of my old ones ever since.
