Default weird noise

every time im at a dead stop and i accelerate i here this clank sound thats comming from the front passenger wheel. i have been under my car several time and have not seen anything wrong. but yesterday i took my car to get my front brake pads put in and i noticed this

as you can see ,the dark spots is grease that is leaking out. could this be the noise im hearing. everything else under there is in good shape nothing else looks broken or battered

jroc-
you may want to check the pad mounting hardware up front and the shims.
If they're all okay then you need some anti-noise grease applied to the backs
of the pads and shims.

But the clanging is almost sounding like one of the pad clips isn't sitting properly.

yeah jroc, i see your point, i just automatically thought it was the brakes. but.. If you have a torque wrench re-check all the torques.. I have a link for the front torque values, just search for the tech post "chassis bolts". That'll tell you all the values.

Could also be the strut mount, check that as well, makes sure it's tight, especially the top nut (center), heard of others that were loose.
