Oil catch cans on our cars???

Default Oil catch cans on our cars???

Has anyone installed an oil catch can for our cars? I was at a friends house and was helping install one for his Impreza and thought if any of us tC guys have one installed.

I was thinking about putting the GReddy one on.......without a turbo it has no real purpose than to add another shiney object under the hood,my biggest issue was trying to find a place to mount it and keep all the hosing runs looking neat and tidy.

I had one on my turbo setup...avoid the ones with like the clear tubing on the side where you can see the oil, from what ive seen and heard they can cause air bubbles...

i have one for my turbo.. but the turbo isnt installed yet until the 27th. hmm ill tell you how it goes

i had one on my tcturbo, but when i went to ptuning to get tuned they said i didnt need it

I am going to install one this week. It cant hurt your car. I like the idea of not having oil in my turbo inlet.

Well most of the subi guys i hang out with have one installed in all there cars. i mean sure it's better to have it if you got FI but its also good to have one just cause oil eventually goes into your intake manifold and intake itself overtime.

can someone post pictures of the locations in the engine bay where they are installed? i was just looking around and i couldnt find a legitimate spot.

After 5k mi I drained about half a soda can out of the one attached to the valve cover and maybe a few drips out of the one attached to the PCV.

Mine is in the cavity under the battery. Is about the size of two soda cans side by side. I'll snap a pic asap.

Agreed.

Honestly the Saikou Michi and (I think) the Moroso cans are the best because they have a steel mesh to catch oil vapor.

You can also get it in an unfinished aluminum that can be left as is or powdercoated.
