What's funny is that Hyundai and Kia are doing pretty well right now ... Hyundai is near the top of quality, and Kia is coming up through the ranks.

Perhaps; but there are plenty of other cheap cars on the market. They've got a great warranty, their quality is high, and they are reasonably priced. I believe that's why they're doing well. They've gotten a lot of good PR lately, which is helping, too.

rather drive a hyundai or kia over a chevy. I think chevy has gone down down hill since their early years. At the shop I work at chevys are 70 percent of our clients. I think they are the biggest POS on 4 wheels. I own 2 also, so personal experience is were I speak from.

I say GMC first and Kia second.

What does GMC make that Chevy doesn't?
Hyundai should pick vehicles it needs from Kia and just rebadge them as a Hyundai for the US.

Uh for about 20 years of my life GMC and Chevy both pumped out some of the ugliest sh*tboxes ever to roll on a highway. I say peace out.

my girlfriends parents drive nothing but chevys. They call me all the time to fix them. At work all I sell is parts for them and I also work on them all the time. The government should stay out of it and let them crumble, how they should have. They bailed them out once. the second and third time they find them selves in the same situation, they are going to get bailed out again. Chevy was surviving on Bushs administration. Government is too involved.

GMC needs to go. the are soley badge engineered and very blandly at that. there are absolutely zero iconic GMC models.

if GM wants to keep GMC so bad, they should just limit them to fleet sales of trucks and heavy duty vehicles, and make chevy trucks consumer/personal use only.

i would also say pontiac, for years their cars were just over body molded pieces of crap. you can't be a "performance" brand with an entire lineup of front-wheel drive cars with nothing but a range of weak 4 bangors and pathetic v6 engines. the recent years showed some turn around with the GTO (though they looked like giant chevy cavaliers) and the pontiac G8 gt, but too little, too late.
hyundai/kia, meh, somebody has to build cars for idiots and losers.

Hyundai is actually doing very well and making some decent products now. They started as crap but now that I think about it, I still see many early 90's Hyundai's making their way around town. Wasn't the infamous 4g63 in the DSM's partially designed by Hyundai or did Hyundai just use them in some of their earlier cars? I forget. Either way, Kia is the next Daewoo and GMC is pointless. Cadillac>GMC. Pontiac is approaching death, Ford is holding strong and rising, Chrysler/Dodge are doomed. I think that covers it all.

i just want to give my .02!

i used to work at a dealership that sold chrysler/jeep/subaru/dodge/hyundai

Hyundai is a force to be reckoned with now. Their interiors have far surpassed all american manufactures, combine that with a great warranty, great looks, and cheap price....buying hyundai you cant go wrong!

Chrysler just needs to fold!
