Ok, so yesterday my mant. req'd. light came on so i took it to my nearest Toyota dealership for an oil change. First off, what a bunch of dicks. I had taken it to another dealership the day before and the second I pulled in the lot, EVERY person from the Lexus and the Toyota came running over to check out my xB.
Anyways, this dealership didnt. They didnt even know what the vehicle was and were surprised it was even a Toyota. So, the chicker starts punching my info into the computer and another guy walks in from the back and asks her 'What is that?' in which she replies, ' I dont know, but, whatever it is, its the ugliest vehicle ive ever seen' WTF? Right in front of me! Then, a couple more Toyota guys comment on how ugly it is. Then, the parts dpt. mgr. walks in and the same girl asks here what the truck is and the PARTS MANAGER says, 'Oh, thats one of those LOW END Toyotas from the States' AGAIN! Right in front of me!
Then, they woldnt honour my 3 free oil change coupons. I had even called them before I left (no Toy dealer in my hometown) to see if they would and they said they would. So, after me, _____ing at them and asking if they are gonna suck the new oil out and put my old stuff back in cause i want paying for it, they decide to hounour the one.

Anyhow, that brings me to part#2 of my post. When I got back in my box, the maint. req'd light still flahes 5-6 times when i first start it then it goes off. This isnt normal im assuming. The dealership shouldve reset this correct? Since they didnt, how can i do it myself?

Make sure the display is on the normal odometer. Turn the car off. Hold down the odometer control button thingy and turn the key to the on position. You should see 5 little bars in the display. Once all five of those disappear you can release the button thingy and the maintenence light is reset.

That's too bad that they can't show their customers a little respect. I'd drop a letter to the GM of the dealership and share your experience and be sure to mention how the bad treatment has you telling your story to others, etc.

As for the maint. light, it's in the tech section. It's a great place to look for common issues and cool stuff:

It's also in that little book that lives in the zippered case in your glove compartment. There is also a lot of other useful info in there too!
