The bottom piece of foam broke and is causing a rattle. I took it out. What is this piece good for? Should I get a new foam block?

mine all did that too when I took mine out. I forgot what I did with them. I'm sure it's just to lose some of the noise, but I bet the difference is negligible. you could throw your own type of padding in there, make it even better than stock

Sound deadening. Feel free to add more, it helps some.

yep it is jsut a sound dampener,it absorbs sound as it bounces in the panel, not good for stereo setups of course but does absorb some road noise, just toss yours out and get some sound deadener to line the panels.......one other graet thing about seound deadeners is they help cut down on door dings,my panels are now over 1/8 inch thick and after 2 years not one ding and car is parked at a mall every day for work......yet my poor Yaris is covered in dings while parked at same mall.

I took them from work, but you can probably get them from any place that deals with shipping.

Ah those pink things do look like the stuff shipping has.

Cool side effect of when I had the panels and seat out is that I can really hear the whoosh of the supercharger when I'm in boost. But muffling the road noise is more important to me.

Where is a good place to order real sound deadening material?
