i thought of an surrealistic idea

what if we put like an intercooler on our CAI or short ram sure the adds a few bends but anyways

and with the intercooler you'll be already set up for F/I right kind of like killing two birds with one stone so to speak

right

now how lame was that idea huh?

That's like putting the cart before the horse... The intercooler is needed to cool the air after it has been compressed by the F/I. Cooling the incoming air would help some but not enough. There's a reason they put it where they do. A better idea along your plan would be to use some liquid cooling components for PCs to cool the incoming air...IMO.

The added piping to put an intercooler in your intake would probably give some nasty throttle lag, too.

Forget about wishing to win the lotto, I'd rather have the Progressive Slot jackpot...

 

well i'm am happy that there are ppl that shoots down my lame day dream idea's (ie: looks good in my mind, but wouldn't work well in real life)

 

well the slowing of the air entering the engine would kill performance and since the air outside isnt very heated there wouldnt be much gain there. an alternative would be to get the old arospeed intakes that looks like an intercooler with a large widemouth intake that goes across the front of the car.
