So today, I took the new vehicular purchase out to a mutual friend of myself and Jason 'HatenFate' and we decided that the little bit of a dent on the front bumper could be fixxored

Firstly (not a werd but Firefox didnt highlight it, strange) pics before...

But oh, how do we fix it, we are only on a farm, with horses, and people... and............................

a tractor

I'll get a bigger tractor.........;)

Too bad Don hasn't figured out the proper capitalization for my SN.....GEEZ DON!!!!

I had fun rippin on the front of the runner. I wish we would have had a larger front loader. I couldn't get the front of the truck off the ground. Didn't have the hydraulic pressure to do it.

I got a deer killer (front brush guard) that will hide that dent really good. It is for an 89-95

when can I come and get this?

beandip007
08-18-2009, 03:39 PM
Are you coming down to have james do your 4 runner? When you come to KC. we can do it then. It is like new condition, black not chrome. Or anytime you want to come down. I can shoot a pic if that will make you feel better. I used to have tons of pickup parts, but I think that is all I have left.

RedneckwithanxB
08-18-2009, 03:46 PM
look around, what else do you have? The one I am looking at is close to $450, but if thats all you want, Im down for it...

I have to fix a bit of rust, so Ill prob plan like first or second weekend in september

bed liner paint job ftw but then you'll be taking a hit in mpg

the plus side is rocks will bounce off and hit that other car

If its the spray on liner, not the one out of the can, but the professional one.... it might give you BETTER mpg.

What are you talking about.....It's a pretty good shape for being a 1990 4runner...wait..ur in CA..

You're not used to seeing these runners from the RUST-BELT of the US. My bad.

Come to IA. This runner is pretty good actually compared to a lot of the old runners and trucks around here.

i guess , my 92 4runner was def showing it's age in faded paint and peelin clear coat in some spots and it lived it's life in tahoe , no rust . do you guys use salt on the roads or silica sand ?

i feel bad for all cars if they get eaten up that bad in less than 20 years . makes me sad . i'd be afraid to own a newer car in the thought that it'll have cancer in less than 20 years . guess tis the price to pay living in the midwest ?

it snows in cali , we just use silica sand instead of salt .

bought it for 700 , put about 10 hours work into the paint and brakes , and about 300 in parts and sold it for 2250 so I was happy .

Ohh here in the midwest we've above salt(not totally. still use it once the snow and ice are down). We've moved up to car eating Salt Brine solutions that get into EVERY crevice and pit that it can find. Our car's slowly get eaten away......well, quickly when the brine is out.

It's the price you pay for lowered costs of living. My house, buildings, and land where you live would easily take a few milion to purchase if it were in CA.

yeah i know . i couldn;t do it cheaper or not , that and less income .

but yeah salted and brined roads sounds bad .

use liberal rubber undercoating everywhere ? sure it'll slow you down with the weight but if it'll keep a car alive longer ??/

$700 here too, brand new front glass, rebuilt engine 15K miles ago, new clutch, rebuilt trans, and transfer case. Im not worried about the body, because I am going to use this as a trail truck so if I ding it I ding it, I beat the front end up when I was out at the farm a couple weeks ago wheelin, so no love lost there

Im done with the 22re, everyone I know had a reliable one, but I went through 5 of them through 3 trucks. If I ever get another pickup/4runner I'm going to put some balls in it. Great thing about the midwest, no smog emissions. lol *poke* :)

1uz is an easy swap but a weak motor , only 190hp..... yeah there's some potential and good torque but eh...

What motor are you thinking of, the early 90s 1uz was 256/260, Im hoping to find a wrecked GS400 post 96, 300/310

beandip007

2J requires a bunch of work to swap, fire wall clearence the motor is to dang long for that truck I've seen it done, but they did not recomend it. Great motor though, 7M I have had that too, that motor was a turd with out a turbo, and you still have weak head gaskets. I like the 2uz that has got best of both worlds reliable and powerful.

Ill be happy with just a little bit more power... the 3VZ is a nice motor torque wise, but it just does not have the power to move the truck easily

bolt in as in no modification, no, but they do have motor mounts now. I was looking into this in 1998 when it was still kinda new. Now I see what they do with the radiator so they don't need to cut on the firewall. So I will admit I am wrong about that, but just to give you guys some entertainment. I now present 2jz 4runner...
