Default TOGA HP Bearing

I must to change the Oem bearings with TOGA HP bearings Mains e rods but I have very difficult for the sizes because the Oem bearing are a marked 1,2,3 etc but the Toga Hp bearings does't have this marked but have only STD, .010, .020 etc size.

How I make to choose the correct measures?

Can you help me please?

Thanks
Giupo

i have em and you can put them in any order but be sure to order std. unless you had to go get your crank turned and if so you would have to ask the machine shop that did it for you and i would suggest you take it to a machine shop to have the main bearings put in because our block doesnt have the notches for the toga bearings

Huh, I will try this today. I have the Toga bearings but haven't installed them yet. I am in the middle of notching the cylinder wall for the connecting rods themselves. My block is an 04 I think and it definately has a notch for the main bearings. I'll try and grab pictures tonight.

Confirmed, my block has notches on both the cap and block of the main bearings. The odd thing is that the block side notch is offset, the cap side is centered. itsme, how much of the work was done at the machine shop? Are you confusing notching the block to get the connecting rods themselves to fit with notching bearing journals?

Unfortunately I left the Toga bearings at the house so couldn't test fit them at the shop, but here's the raw pics of the journal face. (1st pic, block journal 2nd from bottom has the bearing removed. 2nd pic, just the cap)

huh im kinda lost on what i just read as far as asking me if im confusing notching the block to get the connecting rods themselves to fit with notching the bearings.......i have stock connecting rods.....i just rebuilt the motor because i blew the head gasket and was like hrrmmm why not upgrade the bearings....as for work being done to the block i just went to them and pretty much said make it fit lol

Ok, didn't know you were still on stock rods. I figured if you had new bearings, you must have swapped rods too. The aftermarket Crower rods will hit the cylinder wall on the exhaust side so a groove needs to be cut in the bottom of the cylinder to get them to clear, that's what I mean by notching the block.

If you're on stock rods and they still said a groove needed to be cut for the bearing tab, that kind of sucks. Guess I lucked out with the 04.

Guipo, what year is your engine? I can confirm if Toga will fit or not on the 04 and 06. Order standard, and to check the bearing clearance, use a product called plastigauge, the smallest one they make. It's a little piece of wax thread that squishes between the bearing and crank that is then measured to give you bearing clearance.

Buy a spare 04 block. The sensor connectors may change but you can still screw them into the block for any year 04-06. Are you resident to Italy or just stationed there and bringing the car stateside? I use car-part.com to track down used stuff here but they only cover the US, Mexico and Canada. Maybe you could find something like that there. I picked up the block I'm building for $250.

This might sound silly but are you guys upgrading your bearings for a turbo setup? Or, will this help improve performance on a non aspirated engine? School me!
