Default Hatch/Trunk problem

Anyone else have the following problem? I have a 2005 Scion tC, and the rear hatch (ie the trunk) won't open. It seems to be getting caught on the secondary latch that prevents the trunk from opening when its not supposed to. The problem is also intermittent ; it happens on and off. Sometimes the trunk will release, sometimes it won't. When I took it to the dealer to get it fixed, they charged me ~$500 to replace a part. Later that day when I tried the trunk, it didn't open. I drove it back to the dealer, and the trunk did not work when I got out of the car, but worked when I tried to show the service clerks. It's aggravating because everytime I try to show them the problem it seems to resolve itself and they keep telling me that they can't fix it because they can't see anything wrong... arghh...

Yea sometimes mine sticks, but i just push the button again and listen from the bottom of the hatch. $500 for what, that is like a whole new hatch?

yeah - half for the part half for the labor. It was expensive but what makes me mad is it didn't fix my problem.
