What industrial strength paint remover are there that is safe for plastic?

I want to redo my tinted tail lights, rubbing alcohol actually made it worst, (applied a little to clean up any dirt and greasy during prep to redo the lights) and made it all nasty and got parts of the tint off but ya..is there any you guys know of that will get the job done, on plastic?
