Dash Bulbs - anyone found a source for covers?
I've seen folks posting about changing their dash bulbs to LED to get rid of the orange glow.
Since I have an RS 1 - I don't mind the orange glow on the A/C controls - but I do hate the old school green glow down on my auto shifter indicator.
I know this bulb has a "jimmie" cap (or bulb condom) to give it this color.
Has anyone ever found a source for these? The incandecent bulbs give a nice even glow, as apposed to the LEDs that usually have hot spots, but it would be nice to find them in different colors.

I'm not sure where you are talking about, but If it's anything like the tC's auto shifter... There's a large piece of clear plastic that spreads the light from a single bulb across the back of the indicator. LED's will not give hot spots there. But if it isn't, they sell the bulb condoms at Pep Boys.

Yes - that is it exactly. Why they would use one color on the speedo, another on the clock, radio, and A/C controls, then a third color on the auto tran indicator is unknown.
I am trying to get the auto tran indicator color to match the A/C controls.
Question: Since I haven't taken my dash apart, and I can't tell from some of the post I've read - Do the A/C factory dash bulbs have covers on them or do they get their color from a lens in the dash?
I see autolumination sells colored incandecent bulbs, but do not really see a color match there...........
I "sharpied" mine blue with the gauge cluster, and the rest that didn't have leds installed I replaced with Leds. The sharpie is easy to do just color in the bulb which color you like and its done. Oznium.com has pre-made or can pre-custom fitments and leds for you. Give them a visits and ask Phil about it.
