yes, lots of people know how to do this, your owner's manual tells you how to do this, many people have posted on this forum how to do this. so go and do it to it!

It's also in your manual, if you still have it.

Like everybody else said, it's in the manual (page 99 for the '08; not sure about other years). The video covered it, but here are the written instructions:

Make sure your ODO is on Trip A before turning off the engine. Now with the engine off, hold the ODO/Trip Meter Reset button down & start the engine (or just turn the key to the accessory ON position) while continuing to hold the reset button down. You will see 5 dashed lines that disappear one at a time over about 5 seconds. When they have all disappeared, let go of the reset button. You're done.

I think I read somewhere that it was in your owners manual...

I think there is a video on it too....

And there are several google and bing search results for it .....

Just bustin your chops dude. I havent gotten there yet, so I didn't know either. I will have forgotten by the time I do my oil change. then I'll look it up.

Yeah, I think you got the idea now, lol.

Hope you got it. I'm locking before this gets bigger.

I have tried all of these tips listed in this forum to get rid of the "maint reqd" light on my dashboard, and none of them have worked. I just had my oil changed Saturday and apparently the shop forgot to reset this. Not only will holding down the trip reset button not reset this for me, I also do not get the dashes across the odometer when doing this. The only thing any of this accomplished, other than straining my patience with my vehicle, was changing my readout to kilometers per hour. Am I doing something wrong????

You have to put your trip meter onto meter A. Then turn your key completely to off. Then hold down the trip meter button then turn your key to the "on" position. Keeping the button held down, the readout starts blinking and the dashes show. Keep holding til the dashes go away. Then you're done...

This post covers most of the scion oil change light reset procedures:

http://oilresetpro.com/how-to-reset-...t-on-scion-tc/

They also have an app that will put this procedure at your finger tips for free the next time you need it. This app is super helpful if you are a technician like me who does oil changes everyday. Nice to have all the vehicle resets available so easily when I need them. Hope this helps someone.

True, the procedure is a pain, but at least in my experience (I asked too) it does work. Please take your time doing it to make sure no mistake is made. It seems unlikely an electrical fault, though I expect that's a possibility !
