Okay so I got my Stop Tech Stage 1 kit from Assaultech (thanks). I installed the pads no biggie, got those done in a couple minutes each. Anyway, I move onto the brake lines, they're stainless steel lines. I got ONE line on, the rear passenger side. I move onto the rear driver side as per several recommendations on SL and other websites. I used the same tools and I stripped the nut that holds the line to the car, NOT the line to the caliper. I was wondering, what tools do you all suggest I use? I used a wrench to hold onto the nut, and then a bigger wrench to grip onto the line itself and unscrew, but failed. I got one off doing the same procedure but had trouble on the other side of the car. I was considering Robogrips from my local Sears store where I work. What do the members of ScionLife suggest? I used 2 wrenches, then a pair of pliers. Thanks in advance.

If you haven't stripped it totally, I would suggest you looking for something specifically for this job called "line wrenches". Not your typical open end wrench, an actual wrench that grips most of the edges to loosen the lines. Or if you have stripped it totally, you could use a vise-grip on the stripped side and a wrench on the other, then attempt to loosen without using too much force.

Hmm..that would make sense. I just Google'd it. I'll try those.
Use a flare nut wrench. It is specifically designed for use on fuel lines and brake lines to prevent stripping. It will cost you about 10 bucks for a set of 3 and save you a headache as well as the price for a new fitting.

Damn. I knew I should have slowed down and assessed the necessary tools required. I guess this is common knowledge LOL.

your not the frst to strip those nuts on a car.......trust me i did it a few times in my life, the flare wrenches make a big differance on gettign them off.
also never use a 12 point wrench to loosen up a nut or bolt,at most use a 6 sided wrench as it gives more surface to teh bolt and reduces stripping.
also at sears they got these new wrenches that are like the new thing and they seem to work pretty good on stripped bolts,i tried them on the display and they grip really good.

Those universal wrenches? I saw em, SK made em first I believe. They are pretty spiffy. Do you know what size that nut is? I don't want to buy an entire set when I only need one size.

I forget the size for the flare nut wrench. Ill look when i get home. If you already stripped the nut use a large pair of vice grips. I used a flare nut wrench but it still stripped it. Clamp the vice grips tight on the nut and quickly unloosen and it will break loose. That is what I had to do.
