Default yellowxhoodie 240sx build thread.

so as some of you know i recently sold my civic and picked up a 92 240sx hatch.

figured id show you guys whats goin on, the internets been pretty dead lately.

pics will be up tonight of how i got the car and what ive done so far. (very little, no time or money)

this build will be extremelllly slow, FIY.

first thing on the list is a KA24DE motor with 100K miles less than the one thats in there, and a manual trans since its auto right now.

i was going to go SR20DET, i actually found quite a few locally, but funds are hella short right now since i just bought the car. i dont have the time or the money to be messin around with that. Ill be picking up the KA24DE w/ manual trans tomm hopefully and throwing it in within the next couple weeks when i can buy the master cylinder, clutch petal, and other little parts.

Car wouldnt start on me today so i spent most of the day just messing around with that. Also started gutting the rear tonight, im in the process of cleaning up a heap of wires that were left by the guy who owned it 2 persons ago (grammar? who cares, lol) from his subs.

once i get the new motor and trans in ill be focusing on little things. (re-doing the radio my way, putting the fans on a switch, etc)

next season, i might end up selling the tc, i just dont want to deal with car payments and the $$$ insurance anymore, especially since they cut my hours at work.

if that happens i will end up throwin on some Stance coils, rims that dont fit, and some goofy ___ aero...that is, if this shell is even good enough, i still need to take a closer look when the motors out to determine if i want to keep this one and build it or buy another shell and swap everything.

couple pics up in a bit.

so first things on my list are to remove the pinstripes, replace the fender, ziptie the crack in the bumper, as well as removing the bumper and takin off crap that adds extra weight (bumpers on these cars are heavy), re-attaching the bupmers with zipties rather tan bolts, re-aligning the trunk and hood, replacing and re-wiring the stereo, removing all those wires in the pics, and taking out all the OEM sound deadining then rolling on some truck bed liner.

Dont look that bad. Not a bad starting platform. Get that baby running and it will make you wanna mod it even more.

its been running, i drove it to work all week, just didnt wanna start today. new battery will be here tomm. morning since i had to special order it.

also picking up the new motot and trans tomm so if the battery doesnt do it, ill prob replace the dizzy and starter too.

i only have a few pics of the civic but i sold it to a friend so its still around, im curious to see what she'll do with it.

as far as the swap, its free when you DIY. but there are guys around here who charge about $400 and have it done in 2 days.
