Default parking brake problem?

When I park on a hill and put the parking brake on, its natural for a car to roll a little and then the brake engages. But when my car does roll a little and the brake engages it makes this loud noise. It sounds like if your driving a manual and press on the throttle with the parking brakes on, it makes a grinding sound. I went to the dealer, and they said nothing is wrong. But this started to happen 2 years after i bought it brand new. Any suggestions?

can't say that i think it is normal. my tc is 5 years old now, bought it new, and it hasn't happened to me yet.

Mine makes a creaking sound as if the car wanted to move. Sometimes it actually will roll so i just park it in gear.

my girl has a lot of problems with her tC handbrake. The brake light stays on even when the handbrake is at neutral.

she probably needs new pads (as the pads wear out the fluid level in the reservoir drops triggering the light). the light isnt just for the ebrake.

if its making noise and not stopping the car, might look at adjusting the adjuster located on the rear brakes (rubber plug comes out to reveal the star shaped adjuster at the 6-o'clock position).

domo, the brake light indicator on my tC also started coming on recently. it happened randomly while i was driving...After changing the pads, it has not happened again.
