Swapping a TRD reflashed ecu
I am planning on getting a piggyback ecu for the sc and have read that it is better to have a stock ecu as a starting point. I remember seeing someone mention to find one that the airbag hasn't been set off on. I can't find that post, but was wondering if I bought a salvaged ecu that had been in a crash if my airbag wouldn't work(hopefully I'll never need it though). Is this the case with swapping ecu's?
be that as it may, you still need to buy an ECU that matches your part number of the ecu already in your car.
to find out, go to toyodiy.com, put in your VIN number and go to the ECU and it will have it narrowed down to one part number. if you just use year/make/transmission it will still give you four possible part numbers.
