So I thought I would take a photo of some of the leftovers I have, after I started collecting them in a jar awhile back rather than tossing them in the trash. The pile is 1/4" deep or more in places and pretty much totally covers an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper *LOL* Did not want to spread them out too much or I would have a huge mess on my hands.

Anyways, made me laugh a little when I dumped out the remains. Guess you have to be a solder slinger to understand how many leds / how much work the pile equals hahaha. Sure wish I would have started dumping them in a jar when I started toying around with interior lighting. Could probably almost double this pile.

Well my wifes and mine are in there somewhere, now that i'm starting to do these I can understand how much work that pile has been. great job man.

And I wanted to say to those customers that saw this thread, THANK YOU! It has been a great few years serving the scion community. I have made a ton of new friends / not just customers! I really appreciate all of the support from you guys!

Heck with that many leds and resistors you could make your own amber Christmas lights. lol

 

I could! But an all amber, green and red Christmas would be rather horrible

And yeah, I dig LED Christmas lights My house has a few thousand of them :D Pics does not do it justice. Lights up the block like a casino haha.

HOLY air port batman, that is a lot of LEDs I guess you take your job with leds seriously. lol

 

I was thinking about saving all the ones I have done, but I kinda strayed away from that...But yes, that is a butt-load of LEDs you have there, it's gotta be well over 5K...

I have trashed some over the years since I started doing them back in 05, but I still have a mountain of them too We can definitely say that we have plenty of 8V linear regulators to use if we ever need them!

One of my pile-o-leds and resistors ended up in my floor this weekend due to a nice bit of clumsiness on my part... and instead of just vacuuming them all up I for some reason picked them up and put them back in the container.. like I am keeping them as trophies Nothing like owning thousands of amber leds!

 

I want to eventually get my gauges redone.

 

yea.. i think with the three of us (you, engifineer, and me) we all have a mountain of leds.. though i did start tossing them after it got a little too big though :? .. it's just a whatever now.

i can't imagine how big the pile would be with all of ours combined
we probably could light up a whole airport's runways.. LOL.

I think there is quite a bit more than 5K but I do not think I will attempt a count anytime soon haha.

The funny part is, when I started collecting these in a jar, my goal was to fill the jar up totally. Well I got to about 75% and things were looking good! Then I came home and my wife had put them all in a new jar about 4x the size as she thought the old jar was ugly Now the new jar is only about 30% full... I have a long ways to go now
