I'm trying to get my system wired in (does anyone else have the problem of the closer you get to finishing, the more you have to do yet?) and am at a loss of finding a good place to put the main fuse holder (AFS style) by the battery. I've got the 4ga wire coming through a electrical gasket on the far left of the engine (facing the engine). Over the driver's side shock tower is the car alarm horn. I've got room by the passenger shock tower for the holder, but I'd rather not run a long (4 ft) cable to the battery. The fuse holder is about 5" x 1" x 1", clear plastic.

Where are you putting yours?

Glad you don't want to do that (and hope you didn't), because it's not a good idea. The industry standard is for the battery to main fuse wire no more than 18" long, and I'd suggest you follow that rule, find a secure location close to the battery.

I ended up making a mount out of aluminum stock that fits on a brace in front of the driver's side shock tower. Took a little finagling on mounting the fuse holder on, but the job is done. Got about a 14" run of wire over the battery, so I double sheathed it in nylon web hose.
