What transmission should i get? I need help.
I'm getting a transmission from a junk yard for free, let's say both cars were hit from behind, so the transmissions are fine. Now, should i get an 08 tranny with 40k miles on it, or an 07 with 28k?
What year did they finally fix the transmission problems? i've heard they completely fixed it in 08, and i've heard they fixed it in 07. so any info will help.
btw, they are both MT

i'd get the one with less mileage since the clutch/flywheel and tranny internals has a lot less wear than the 08, or if you plan on doing a clutch/flywheel upgrade then id still get the 07... i think they fixed the tranny problem with the 07's im not sure tho but i think it was the later 07's... you can see when the car was produced byu looking at the lable thats stamped on the inside of the driver side door... or just call the dealership and see if they know what production year the tranny issue was resolved...
do either of the cars look like they were driven hard???

Go with the 07 and go ahead and do a clutch/flywheel upgrade while you are it if you have an idea on what direction you want to take your car or if you already have upgrades! Might as well with everything apart you know?
haha you guys where lucky my 06 w/42k miles just got a howl from hell, i took it in thinking it was wheel bearings they put in on lift get a sethoscope and says looks like u need a new tranny, don't bother mwe though i get a fresh 0mile tranny and paper work from toyota with it so now i get ot boost on fresh tranny hehe
